What is conformation?In conformation shows the dog is judged on how well it conforms to the standard published by the American Kennel Club. AKC breed descriptions can be seen on the AKC website. On the AKC website www.akc.org, you can use the drop-down menu for “Breeds A to Z” at the top of the page and then select the breed about which you want to know more.

When & Where: The Calcasieu Kennel Club hosts two conformation shows each year in June at the Lake Charles Civic Center. The dates of our next shows are Thursday & Friday, June 6 & 7, 2024. The Acadiana Kennel Club hosts their shows with us on Saturday and Sunday. Approximately the same dogs are entered each day but are judged by different judges from all over the United States. The judges are listed on the premium list which will posted here closer to the show date.

Judging Program: The judging program has the actual times the individual breeds will be shown and in which of the seven rings. This is not published until a week before the shows. Please check back with us then.
